Table Sale – April ’23

The Table Sale held by The Friends on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th of April at the hospital raised £360. The money goes towards making the hospital a better place for patients and staff.

Table Sale – November ’22

The Table Sale held by The Friends on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th of November was a great success and raised a wonderful £616.39. The money goes towards making the hospital a better place for patients and staff.

Table Sale – October ’22

The Table Sale held by The Friends on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th of October was a great success and raised a wonderful £875.32. The money goes towards making the hospital a better place for patients and staff.

Table Sale – August ’22

The Friends held a Table Sale to raise funds on Wednesday 3rd August between 10am and 4pm. The sale was held outside the main entrance to the hospital. The sale raised £115.41.

Just Giving 

A Just Giving fundraiser to benefit The Friends of the PRUH, was opened in memory of a loved one who passed away suddenly. The family wanted to create a lasting legacy to their dear one by continuing his passion to support people with learning disabilities who need to attend the Princess Royal University Hospital, for acute or planned hospital care. This raised the wonderful sum of £2,300. The Friends gratefully thank all those who contributed to this legacy.

Jocelyn Lamb in partnership with Usborne books, promoted a spring fundraiser for The Friends of the PRUH. Various businesses provided raffle prizes and the proceeds from this will buy new children’s books plus additional funds for the hospital

As part of this event Jocelyn set up a stall at The Chatterton Arms, Bromley on Sunday 13th March, between 13.00 & 17.00. The stall allowed people to buy books to donate directly and donate cash. Jocelyn also ran a raffle at the event. The Friends also ran a sales stall at this event. This event raised £628.82.

Just Giving 

A Just Giving page was opened by a relative in memory of a loved one who passed away on Christmas day at the PRUH. The funds to benefit the PRUH because of the wonderful care the relative received at the hospital. The Just Giving page was opened in January and raised £825. The Friends are very grateful for the donations.

Stall Sale at St Giles Church

A stall sale was held at St Giles Church, Church Road, Farnborough, Orpington, on Sunday 5th December after the 10am Toy Service. Thank you to everyone who generously supported The Friends at this event, which raised £457.14.

Christmas Fayre at St Albans Church

The Christmas Fayre held on Saturday 20th November at St Albans Church, William Barefoot Drive, Mottingham was a great success and raised a whopping £1,400 for The Friends.

 Sales Stall 

On Tuesday 10th August The Friends set up a Sales Stall outside the entrance to the hospital. We were welcomed back by so many staff from all different areas who were pleased to see us. Thank you to all who helped on the stall. The weather was fine and sunny and the sale was a great success.

The Friends had another Stall Sale on Friday 13th August.

Captain Tom’s Birthday Challenge

To celebrate Captain Tom’s birthday, The Friends set themselves a challenge to collect 100 small gifts for sale in a future stall. Our target has now been reached. Thank you to everyone who donated.

 

Zoom Speaker Event

was held on Friday, 26th February at 8pm 

in aid of Covid related projects within the hospital

A Zoom Presentation was given by Penny Brockman who is the Team Leader of
the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team. Her interest in Mountain Rescue
began in 1986 when she trained at West Wickham for the Duke of Edinburgh Gold
Award and did her expedition in the Brecon Beacons. Penny talked about the
history of the Mountain Rescue Service from its early days to the present day and
illustrated her talk with slides and videos.

Thank you to all those who helped us raise funds by making a donation to listen to this fascinating talk. A part of the donation will benefit the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Service who rely entirely on voluntary donations.

 

FUN VIRTUAL CHRISTMAS QUIZ
