Zoom Speaker Event

was held on Friday, 26th February at 8pm

in aid of Covid related projects within the hospital

A Zoom Presentation was given by Penny Brockman who is the Team Leader of
the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team. Her interest in Mountain Rescue
began in 1986 when she trained at West Wickham for the Duke of Edinburgh Gold
Award and did her expedition in the Brecon Beacons. Penny talked about the
history of the Mountain Rescue Service from its early days to the present day and
illustrated her talk with slides and videos.

Thank you to all those who helped us raise funds by making a donation to listen to this fascinating talk. A part of the donation will benefit the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Service who rely entirely on voluntary donations.

Fabric Patchwork Quilt Artwork

Thank you to all those that have submitted fabric blocks over the last few months, they are very varied, beautiful and thought provoking. We have now started the process of stitching them all together to make a wall hanging so we are not  able to accept any more after 31st January 2021 .

We intend this to be ready for the anniversary of lockdown  March 23rd 2021, but due to the continuing pandemic feel we shall have to postpone our presentation of it to the Hospital

Thank you to all those who helped us raise funds by donating a minimum of £5 for each block

Here are some of the fabric quilt blocks received:
